Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa orders CB-CID probe into the twin bomb explosions on Bangalore-Guwahati train.

Railway Minister M Mallikarjun Kharge said the Railways will bear the entire treatment expenses of the injured.

Tamil Nadu DGP K Ramanujam said after the Railway Police registers the case into the explosion, the investigation will be taken up by a Special Investigation Team.

Police detain a suspect in connection with twin bomb blasts on Guwahati-Bangalore Express.



Chennai Central Railway Station Passanger Injured



The woman passenger travelling from Bangalore to Vijayawada died. She was identified as 22-year-old Swati, who was slated to go further to Guntur.

Soon after the explosion, security personnel cordoned off the platform number 9 but the movement of other trains from and to Chennai Central has not been affected
Police have mounted a massive search operation in all the trains following the incident.

The police said closed circuit television pictures at Bangalore will also be checked.

Train had a brief 10 minute halt at the Central Railway station ahead of its ownward journey.

Blast on Guwahati Express as it approached platform no.9 around 7: 30 am

The nature and intensity of the blast are not known.

Coaches S-4, S-5 damaged in the blast.

Two blasts were reported - one low intensity on the platform and the other in one of the coaches of the train.
