Rajinikanth’s Lingaa courts controversy

After Kochadaiiyaan delay, Rajinikanth’s Lingaa courts controversy

Rajinikanth‘s next flick is rumoured to be based on a controversial topic. As the nation awaits the release of Rajinikanth’s much talked about Kochadaiiyaan, we hear that the Thalaiva’s next film Lingaa has a controversy associated to it. It seems that the Sivaji star’s Lingaa is based on the Mullaperiyar dam dispute.

The Mullaperiyar dam built on the Periyar river in Kerala has always be a great cause of scuffle between the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. A source close the film said that the Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha- Anushka Shetty starrer Lingaa is set on the backdrop of the controversial dam. Rajini is supposedly playing the role of the chief engineer of the dam.

However, the makers maintain that the film has kept itself away from the controversial part of the Mullaperiyar dam case. In the past the Tamil Nadu government had banned an English film Dam 999 which was related to the Mullaperiyar dam. So we will have to wait and watch what’s in store for Lingaa.

It looks like Lingaa just can’t keep itself away from the spotlight. With the news of commotion on the sets of the film to the latest news of the film’s controversial angle, Lingaa has managed to be on the of the masses minds. The makers will now have to be careful in order to not infuriate the Kerala government, which is already brooding the unfair decision of the Supreme court. Right Bollywoodlifers?
